Feb, 2012: the survey is closed now. It did OK. Didn't crack the magic 10k, but happy anyway. Again, thanks to all the respondents... As promised, I have donated to the two environmental organisations as mentioned below. The World Land Trust will send a certificate, and as soon as that's available, I will put an image up here. The Australian Rainforest Foundation's "Adopt-A-Square" project is apparently not supportable online until April 2012, so that's going to be a phone call during business hours. They also send a certificate, so image when available. The project that this survey was about has reached the next stage. It's been pitched to 6 multinational manufacturers. 3 want further contact/information, so that 2 week trip was worth it. Until next update...mlr |

Original page text: My name is Meredith Freeman, from Outback Queensland, Australia. A project that I am working on now needs a little assistance to take it to the next level. Someone thought you might be willing to help, that's why you're here.
I kindly ask for your participation in a 5 minute, online, check-a-box, anonymous, 14 question market research questionnaire, and your encouragement of 3 others to do the same.
What happens after you do the questionnaire? You become part of something really good:
In return for your opinion, should there be 1000 or more Australian responses, I promise to contact the Australian Rainforest Foundation (Patron: Mrs Peter Cosgrove) and pay to adopt/protect 500 square metres of Australian rainforest on behalf of everyone who participated.
If 1000 or more international responses are received, I promise to contact the World Land Trust (Patron: Sir David Attenborough) to pay sponsorship for around 4 acres of global rainforest habitat on behalf of everyone who participated.
There will be dedication brass plaques made, so it will be known who the stewards are for that particular patch of nature.
The scope of this small conservation will quadruple when the responses total over 10,000. I'd sure like to see it happen and after 3 years of careful fiscal management, I'm able to backup these promises.
Why am I doing it this way? It's a win-win situation. You help me, I help us. Together, in small but positive ways, we can ensure that the coming generations will survive. Yes, this is a tiny gesture in the grand scheme of things. However, it's a worthwhile start, and what would be the consequences of the concept being repeated a few million times? Vox populi is powerful.
After the first results are in (i.e. reached the lowest magic numbers), I will
post here, so everyone knows how it went. Have no idea how long this will be. The timeframe now depends on you.
For those who take part...know that your action has made a difference, now and for the future. Thank you. |
